Mitch and Mark have flipped dozens of properties over the years, including two houses on The Block. Now they’re finally ready to start renovations on their home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and have revealed their plans.

The couple will be sharing the progress on social media as they undertake the renovations while still holding down their day jobs. This is in contrast to The Block where they take time out from work for three months to complete the project.

“We’ve been living in this home and spectacular location for two years now, life’s got in the way for two years now including The Block,” Mitch said in a tour of their house renovation on Instagram.

“The plan is to make this house worthy of the magnificent ocean views, but our home is dated and a hot mess,” they added in the caption.

Plans for the kitchen makeover include turning the current kitchen into a butler’s pantry, while the kitchen will move to the adjacent wall and have an island bench in front.

They’ll also add in bi-fold doors, remove a wall and build a grand staircase.

“The garage is on top, three levels of house below with the first level needing to be all about open plan living spaces and kitchen with indoor outdoor seamless flow,” they said.

“That’s just the tip of the iceberg, we’re talking Titanic here. There’s two more floors down, there’s a huge backyard, there’s the front yard and there’s the wrapping of the whole of this house to make it pretty and sing,” Mitch added.

To help with the renovations, Mitch and Mark’s builder Jason Charles, who teamed up with the couple on both of their seasons on The Block, will be joining them.

Mitch teased the downstairs plans will be revealed in another Instagram video soon.

Mitch and Mark have been busy since winning The Block in 2021.

They not only started their own brand, Mitch and Mark Home, but also opened a store in Newport and are now expanding it. They’ve also started a podcast Reality Reno with Mitch and Mark where they have interviewed Block creator Julian Cress and some of their fellow 2021 contestants.

The couple earnt a whopping $744,444.44 in combined profit and prize money after the house they renovated on Bronte Court sold for $4,044,444.44 at auction.

That means Mitch and Mark have made a total of more than a million dollars in prize money from both of their Block appearances, including the $384,000 profit they made in 2019.

After their 2021 auction, Mitch and Mark said they were planning to put their winnings towards their mortgage.
