Local real estate broker associate Julia DeCastro has been selected by a Naples-based developer of a “ultra-luxury” condominium project on Lido Key to sell the residences.
Naples-based The Ronto Group and Wheelock Capital plan to build the 65-unit Rosewood Residences Lido Key in the 1000 block of Benjamin Franklin Dr. on a 3.89-acre parcel that had been used by Coquina on the Beach and the Gulf Beach Resort Motel.
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announced its involvement in a news release at the end of September as its first standalone residences project. The international hotel chain owns 26 “one-of-a-kind hotels and residences in 15 countries, with 26 new properties under development.”
DeCastro has previous experience selling branded condo property as she represented Sarasota’s Ritz-Carlton Residences during the sales phase of the project. That project included 73 condos priced between $2 million and $10 million.
The news release notes that Sarasota has seen an increase in demand for luxury properties, which this project seeks to meet.
“Condominiums can be impersonal, and high-end condominiums are no exception,” she said in the news release. “That’s just not good enough anymore. The design team consists of Swedroe Architecture and New York-based interior design firm Lillian Wu Studios.
“Each residence will combine exquisite Gulf of Mexico views with unmatched amenities and services,” DeCastro said in the news release. “The scope and ambition of Rosewood Residences Lido Key is unprecedented in our area.”
Van Osborne, director of sales at The Ronto Group, said picking DeCastro to lead the onsite sales team for the Rosewood project was an easy decision.

The price for the residences were not included in the news release.
