On Dec 12, 2021, Prescott Home Depot made a surprise visit to the Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation headquarters in Prescott Valley to make an unexpected donation.
“It was like Christmas came early,” said Mona Stephens, Development Director at Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation. “We were completely taken by surprise when Jenn, Josh, and Lacey from Home Depot in Prescott entered our building with a check the size of a child!”
Each year, the Home Depot Foundation (charitable organization owned by the company) teams up with hundreds of nonprofits across the nation to “bring moments of surprise to those in need throughout the season.” Each store gets to choose a nonprofit in their community to surprise with funding so they can continue to impact lives.
“We’ve worked with Yavapai CASA for Kids in the past to help them with vital needs for their Family Visitation Center for foster youth,” said Josh Ositt, Operations Manager at the Prescott Home Depot. “I did some more research into what they do and felt they were a perfect fit for this year’s Operation Surprise Campaign.”
Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation would like to thank Prescott Home Depot for their continued support of not only local foster youth but the community at large. Their donation will help provide foster youth with the experiences and items that contribute to a well-rounded adolescence and give them a sense of normalcy during a traumatic time in their lives.
If you would like to find out more about the work of Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation or how you can help foster youth with your tax dollars this season, please email [email protected] or call 928 445 0800 and ask for Mona.
